Week 7 - Start with a piece of paper and draw two boxes.

So Ian, take this bit of paper and draw two boxes on it. Measure here near the neck and measure here and draw a box. Then measure here about fret 9 and draw another box. Now draw a centre line down each box. We'll now ignore the right hand side of your boxes. Break. In my hippy days way back we had a Chinese reference book called 'I Ching'. You could ask it questions and by throwing some sticks in the air it would tell you which section to read. The instructions said 'Take 50 yarrow sticks and remove one. You will no longer need this.' So back to the boxes. Now draw a nice curve line inside the box from the bottom corner to the top middle. Draw a straight line somewhere so that it touches the curve. Then you measure some mystical points and get some measurements. You then draw these on the guitar. You then get a plane and plane the bejesus out of the neck. I hope you are getting this. Then you are given a big bloody file with no handle. Then just as you are nearly finished making a curve on the neck you are given a file with a handle. I turned this nice gesture down as I didn't want to soil it with my now bloody stumps.
