Week 3 - Kerfed Linings
So just what the hell is a Kerfed Lining. Well obviously it is the subject of the above picture.
I could also say 'buggered if I know' and we could just get on with the next picture which has an awful lot of clamps in it.
But I feel I should share with you, dear reader, the possible life threatening situation your author got into making these little things. Using the band saw, the one that CAN kill, you make hundreds of cuts into a VERY SMALL bit if wood. That entails getting your fingers VERY CLOSE to a sharp blade that is moving up and down very quickly. Am I the only one wondering about this. I am making a guitar. A guitar I am hoping to play one day. Just in case I have to spell it out - you need fingers to play a guitar, or at least be a very clever French Gypsy person. Chris was so concerned with my safety he locked me in the band saw room. We had visitors after all and they didn't want to hear the screams or see any blood.
Enough of all that, lets move on to the clamps.
